“Our children have been at Emmanuel Christian School for five years now. We felt our children needed an atmosphere of positive reinforcement to reach their full growth potential. Since the move to Emmanuel, we have seen our children grow socially and spiritually from the influence of ECS. It is comforting as a parent to know that our children are being nurtured, on a daily basis, by staff that have an eternal interest in our children’s lives.

Another factor in our decision to move to ECS was the Fine Arts program. Our daughter had an interest in piano and has since added the guitar – all lessons provided on the campus of ECS. The Fine Arts program has been a blessing, and one we weren’t sure we would find in a small town like Hartsville.

The athletic program is superb! Our kids have enjoyed a variety of sports including: basketball, soccer, weight-lifting, tennis and golf. Each sport offers an opportunity for challenge, competition and personal growth – and all within a positive, Christian environment. It has afforded our children an opportunity to build long-lasting friendships among their teammates.

We are thankful for what Emmanuel Christian School has meant to our family, and how the faculty and staff have impacted our children’s lives. We are blessed that our children are being taught not only academics, but biblical principles in a Christ-centered environment. We will be eternally grateful.”

Our family has been a part of Emmanuel Christian School since 2007. We chose ECS because of the Christian environment, small classes, academic opportunities as well as extra- curricular activities. My wife also was given the opportunity to teach Kindergarten surrounded by a faculty and staff that not only loves Christ but one another as well. Our family has been blessed to be a part of an academic environment where Christ is boldly proclaimed. We have had the privilege to watch our sons grow as young men-not only physically but intellectually, emotionally and spiritually as well. ECS has been a part of that process. We had a son graduate from ECS on June first of this year. His plans are to become a pastor. His time at ECS played a wonderful part in that decision. Our family has had the opportunity to cheer the Crusaders on at soccer and basketball games. We have attended plays and recitals, assisted with proms, attended Chapels and graduation ceremonies for fellow students. ECS is a family made up of all walks of life and we are blessed to be a part of it.

From K4 to 12th grade I received an education that has helped me throughout my college, job, and life experiences. As I entered college, then into the workforce I was thankful for the time that each teacher had invested into my educational experience. They were not only interested that I achieved academically but also spiritually. They truly wanted me to succeed!

I now have two children that attend ECS that are being taught by some of the same teachers that taught me. I drop my children off at school knowing that they are receiving a top-notch education, but I also know that they are receiving a Christian education.

One of my favorite things to tell people is that I graduated with fifteen people. My graduating class became my brothers and sisters. I was at Emmanuel for thirteen years of my life, and I would not change a thing. With school, church, sports, drama, I was at ECS more than I was at my own house! Emmanuel gave me the confidence I needed to be successful at college. I am now a member of Chi Omega sorority and I’ve been in multiple drama productions at my university, all thanks to the guidance I received at Emmanuel. I also have a full-ride scholarship. I couldn’t have possibly done any of these things without the caring teachers and nurturing environment of ECS. Because of the size of ECS, I was able to be a theatre kid, a jock, a cheerleader, class president, nerd, artist, honor student– not many people can say they had such a…unique high school experience. All I have to say to Emmanuel is thank you. I grew up at ECS; I became who I am today. I can’t imagine it any other way.

Not only do I believe that I received a quality education academically, but I also learned invaluable life skills. ECS taught me the importance of integrity and accountability. A quote I will never forget came from my 7th grade science teacher, “Good character is doing what’s right when no one else is looking.” As a 2nd generation business owner, I have strived to apply this lesson in every facet of my career. I would definitely recommend ECS to anyone that is seeking an academic and moral advantage in life.

I am also a full time graduate student at MUSC working toward my Doctoral degree and certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I graduated from Clemson University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I graduated with a 4.0 cumulative GPA and was awarded a scholarship achievement award that only thirty students out of the 1500 graduating received. My experiences while at ECS helped to prepare me academically and spiritually for my college experience and career. I will forever be grateful for the achievements that I was able to obtain as a result of being an ECS student.
