Crusader Comments – Oct. 5, 2020

Hello fellow Crusaders!

We are thankful for what God is doing and going to do for each child and each family through our amazing ECS faculty and staff.

Highlights:

*Our fall catalog and online fundraiser HAS BEEN EXTENDED until Monday, October 12.

*We have changed Friday, October 16, from a 1⁄2 day out of school to a full day out of school. No ASC will be offered. So, no school for teachers and students and no ASC on Friday, October 16. We have changed this to a full day out to give our faculty and staff and the students a well-earned full day off.

*COVID-19 update – There are currently no positive student cases that we are aware of in grades K2-6th.  There are currently no positive student cases that we are aware of in grades 7th-12th.

*Please be aware that in the future, when there is a weather warning event, ECS will not release children to be checked out of school early until the weather warning has been lifted. This does not apply to weather watches, just weather warnings. This is the same policy that we follow during a campus lockdown.

*Our distance learning guidelines are now posted on the school website, ecscrusaders.com, under the Academics tab. These documents let you know how we will handle a class or multiple classes that have to be quarantined at home because of the coronavirus.

*Fall Festival – We will not be having the fall festival this year because of the COVID transmission risk involved. BUT we will be having Mistletoe Market, December 9-11.

*Fall school calendar – Please go to the school website and review the changes to the fall school calendar you received in August. Events have been adjusted or removed in October, November, December, and January because of COVID risk of transmission.

*Grandparents Day is Friday, October 30, and due to COVID will look very different than in previous years. Please look for information coming soon.

*EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE FOR THE WEEK: Academic Excellence – to strive for mastery (1 Corinthians 9:25)

*CHARACTER TRAIT FOR THE WEEK: Commitment (Matthew 13:18-23)

GO Crusaders.

Have a great weekend and make sure you are plugged into a local church body (Hebrews 10:24-25).  If you don’t have a local church that you currently attend, we invite you to visit us at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 10:30 for Worship.

ECS Mission Statement – Our mission is to serve in partnership with parents and local churches to provide students with an excellent education taught with Biblical truths. Our desire is that students completing their training at Emmanuel Christian School will be authentic and mature disciples of Jesus Christ, possessing a wide range of knowledge, experiences, and skills that will enrich their lives and provide a good foundation upon which to develop a life of maximum service toward God and man.

Crusader Comments are sent out electronically through email on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning and deal with important information and upcoming events for the next week of school.  You will receive a Remind text to remind you to review it as you are making your plans for the upcoming week.
