Crusader Comments – April 4 – April 8

Hello fellow Crusaders!

Thank you for continuing to partner with us in “Teaching the Mind and Training the Heart” of each child. I have a word of warning in regards to books and media that are available to your children. The current state of society has most publishers now promoting with some of their books and media a non-Biblical lifestyle, and they are purposefully targeting preschool age and older. I want to strongly encourage each of you to start reviewing every book or show that your children are watching. Sit down and watch part of an episode or listen and watch the video game that they are playing and make sure that it is consistent with your family values and the Bible. When it comes to books, digital or print, take time to read the back cover and thumb through the book. What used to appear as a harmless cover has now become a social agenda when you get into the book. We are not continuing to send home the scholastic flyers anymore because of some of the books that they offer. We even pull a good number of books from our book fairs before we ever open it up for you to purchase books. If you ever find a book that is offensive in our library or at one of our book fairs, please let us know. I want to encourage each of you to guard your child’s heart and mind as much as you can as together we strive to raise up a generation of Godly men and women.
