Crusader Comments – Dec. 14, 2020

Hello fellow Crusaders!

As we approach the last week of school before Christmas, I pray that each family will take time to stop and thank God for His Son, Jesus Christ, and the gift of eternal life that only exists through a personal relationship with Jesus.  It is His birth that we celebrate at Christmas time.  If you would like to know more about this gift please contact me, your child’s teacher, the school or church office.

Highlights:

* We pray that everyone that attended or watched our Christmas programs online was blessed and enjoyed a great experience of honoring our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.

* Thank you for your support of Mistletoe Market, especially to Jill Buck and her volunteers for coordinating this fun shopping event.

* Christmas parties are this week and upper school Exams.

* January 4 is when we return to school after Christmas break, and January 12 is when reenrollment starts for next school year.

* As we see Covid-19 cases across the state and in Darlington County continue to rise…. Please continue to be diligent about washing your hands, wearing a mask in public, and socially distancing whenever possible.

* ECS would greatly appreciate it if families would continue to let us know about any student or family member that tests positive for Covid-19 during the Christmas break (Dec. 19-Jan. 3).  Please email the student’s name, grade, and the name and date of who tested positive.  Email this information to info@ecscrusaders.com.  Have a great, safe and healthy Christmas break.  We need to monitor Covid-19 activity, so we can return on January 4 safe and healthy.
* COVID-19 Update – There are currently no positive student cases that we are aware of in grades K2-6th.  There are currently two positive student cases that we are aware of in grades 7th-12th.

*VERSE OF THE WEEK: Luke 9:23
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily.”

*EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE FOR THE WEEK: Discipleship – (Luke 9:23) We teach that following Christ is the goal for life and our desire is to train students that will live out the victorious Christian life.

*CHARACTER TRAIT FOR THE WEEK: Generosity (Philippians 4:15-18)

GO Crusaders.

Have a great weekend and make sure you are plugged into a local church body (Hebrews 10:24-25).  If you don’t have a local church that you currently attend, we invite you to visit us at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 10:30 for Worship.

ECS HISTORY (p. 6 in the handbook) – Emmanuel Christian School has been a ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church since it opened in the fall of 1963, with just a kindergarten and first grade. In the fall of 1964, second and third grades were added and the school grew steadily. In March 1968, only six weeks after a two-story, beautiful building was opened, a devastating fire leveled the facilities.  In 1972, another fire destroyed the rebuilt school buildings on Home Avenue. This temporary setback was used by the Lord to open the door for relocation to our current 260-acre facility.  ECS was founded and continues for the primary purpose of providing a Christian education for all who desire it.

Crusader Comments are sent out electronically through email on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning and deal with important information and upcoming events for the next week of school.  You will receive a Remind text to remind you to review it as you are making your plans for the upcoming week.
