Crusader Comments – May 9 – May 14

Hello fellow Crusaders!  

Thank you for continuing to partner with us in “Teaching the Mind and Training the Heart” of each child. The 2022 ECS Parent Survey is now open for you to fill out and the link was sent out by email and by text on April 27. Please take time to fill it out and help us know what we are doing that you like and areas that we can improve in. Have a wonderful week.



* Boy’s haircuts: Please ensure that your son’s haircut is in compliance with the dress code. Boy’s hair should always be off the eyes, ears, and collar at any point during the school year.
* Teacher Appreciation Week was May 2-6. Thank you to everyone who gave funds, baked, brought items, and helped love on your ECS teachers and staff.
* Re-Enrollment: All current students should re-enroll using the link that was emailed. (Please do not use the new students link on the school website.) Complete each of the steps listed and at the end of the registration process you will need to pay the $150 registration fee (p/child) online. If you have a sibling that is currently not at ECS that you want to attend ECS next school year, please contact the school office and Mrs. McElveen will email you the link to register that child(ren).
* Open Enrollment: If any of your friends children would like to enroll at ECS for next school year, please send them to our school website,, and have them click on the Enroll Today link on the home page or under the Admissions tab and then the 2022-23 Admissions tab.
* Senior Exams – 12th grade students need to be here during all regular class periods, but do not need to stay at school during the exam, if they are exempt. (Students with limited absences and a 90% overall for the year may exempt.)
* Spring 2022 ECS Parent Survey – On April 27 we sent out an email and text with a link to our Spring 2022 Parent Survey. The survey will be open for responses until midnight on May 10.
* Little Crusaders Volleyball sessions are May 10 & 12. They are from 3-4:45, not 4:30.
* Spring Athletic Awards date change. The awards ceremony will now be on Tuesday, May 10 at 7pm in the sanctuary and not May 12, as originally scheduled.
* Athletic Physicals for students currently in grades 5-11 – Be looking for a letter about $10 athletic physicals coming up at the end of the month. Please fill it out and return it to the school.
* Tickets are on sale now for the Jr/Sr Banquet on May 13. Tickets are $20. See Mrs. Fields for a ticket.
* Spanish teacher needed for next year, please contact Mr. Ballard or Dr. Ankers.
* FYI – Excel Recitals are May 17 and 19 at 7pm.
* COVID-19 Update – There are currently 0 positive student cases that we are aware of in grades K2-6th. There are currently 0 positive student cases that we are aware of in grades 7th-12th.


* THE VERSE OF THE WEEK COMES FROM: 1 Corinthians 9:25 “And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.”

* EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE FOR THE WEEK: Academic Excellence – to strive for mastery (1 Corinthians 9:25).

* CHARACTER TRAIT FOR THE WEEK: Diligence (1 Timothy 4:15)

Senior Exams – Normal 1st-6th periods and then 7th period exam
Beta Club Induction at 8:15am in the sanctuary, parents are invited to attend

Tuesday 10th
Senior Exams – Normal 1st & 3rd period block schedule and then 5th period exam
ECS Spring 2022 Online Parent Survey closes at midnight
Little Crusaders Volleyball from 3-4:45 for girls in 1st-6th grade
Spring Athletic Awards in the sanctuary at 7pm

Wednesday 11th
Senior Exams – Normal 1st & 2nd periods, then 3rd & 4th period exams

Thursday 12th
Senior Exams – 1st & 2nd period exams
1st-3rd grade at Wonderworks in Myrtle Beach
Senior Sundaes during lunch
Little Crusaders Volleyball from 3-4:45 for girls in 1st-6th grade

Friday 13th
Senior Exam make-up day
Elementary Field Day
Early Dismissal for all (11:40 for K2-6th grade, 11:55 for 7th-12th grade)
Jr/Sr Banquet in the cafeteria at 6pm – this is a ticketed event
Saturday 14th–Senior Class leaves for their class trip to Florida

Crusader Comments are delivered electronically through email usually on Thursday afternoons and deal with important information and upcoming events for the next week of school. You will receive a “Remind text” to remind you to review it as you are making your plans for the upcoming week.
