Crusader Comments – November 1-5, 2021

Hello fellow Crusaders!

United Way is holding its 8th annual Coats, Hoodies, Hats and Gloves for Kids drive. A collection box is located outside the school office and will be available until November 19. Please donate new or gently used items. This is a great opportunity to give back to our local community by helping others.

* 12th grade PIZZA LUNCH is this Friday, November 5. There will be no cafeteria lunch that day. Lunch order forms for this event were sent home on Wednesday, October 27 and are due back to the homeroom teacher by Wednesday, November 3. Students may choose between a pepperoni or cheese pizza meal deal for only $5. The money raised goes to support our senior class on their class trip.
* The Book Fair is finished. A special thank you to each of the ladies who helped staff the book fair each day and to each of you who purchased items. We will have a total next week.
* Grandparents Day. Please let each grandparent know how much we appreciate them coming out and showing their support for their grandchildren.
* Fall Festival – Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. A fun time was had by all who attended. A special “we appreciate you” to all of the volunteers who came up during the day, stayed that evening to work the event, and to Mrs. Atkinson and especially Mrs. Byrd. Together we raised $ 1,613 for the PTF. Remember these funds go to help our teachers.
* Fall Fundraiser – The final total money raised for this event was $11,352.40. Your support of ECS through this and each fundraiser is truly appreciated.
* Basketball Practices start Monday. Girls will practice from 3:15-5 and the boys will practice from 5:15-7pm. There is no school supervision provided for the boys, so they should not expect to be able to remain at school until basketball practice starts at 5:15.
* SCACS Volleyball State Tournament is Friday (29th) and Saturday (30th). Go Crusaders.
* Fall Sports Awards Ceremony will be Thursday, November 4 at 7pm in the sanctuary.
* COVID-19 Update – There are currently 0 positive student cases that we are aware of in grades K2-6th. There are currently 0 positive student cases that we are aware of in grades 7th-12th. * THE VERSE OF THE WEEK COMES FROM: Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
