Crusader Comments – November 14-19

Hello fellow Crusaders!

Hartsville United Way is holding its 9th annual Coats, Hoodies, Hats and Gloves for Kids drive. A collection box is located next to the school office and will be available until November
18. THAT IS THIS FRIDAY. Please donate new or gently used items. This is a great opportunity to give back to our local community and help others who are in need.

Highlights:
* Little Crusader Soccer continues on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:45-4:30. Any students not picked up by 4:35 will be placed in after school care and charged the daily rate of $15.
* Progress Reports will be Wednesday, November 16. We ask that all K5-12th grade parents please go to your plus portal app and review your child’s current grades in each of their subjects or classes.
* Our seniors will deliver Butter Braid items on Wednesday, November 16.
* Free Eye Screening for students in K5-6th grade. The Lions club will be at ECS conducting free eye screenings on Wednesday, November 16. After the screening, parents will receive a letter from the Lions’ Club and a report on the screening for your child. They will be sent home no later than the Monday, November 21 Monday folder. If you do not want your child to participate in this free
screening, then call the school office.
* 1st-6th grade Honor Roll Chapel will be Friday, November 18 at 8:15am in the sanctuary. Parents are invited to attend.
* Friday, November 18 is a Senior Class sponsored Pizza Lunch. If you had preordered a school pizza lunch on that day, you will now need to fill out the paper order form for your child to have a pizza lunch on that Friday. The order form and money are due back in the school office by Tuesday, November 15.
* Senior Class yard sale in the cafeteria from 7am-Noon on Saturday, November 19. Everyone is invited to shop

* THE VERSE OF THE WEEK COMES FROM: Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and
when he is old he will not depart from it.”
* EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE FOR THE WEEK: Biblical Discipline – Applying spiritual principles in the correction and discipline of students (Proverbs 22:6).

Go Crusaders.

Have a great weekend, and make sure you are plugged into a local church body (Hebrews 10:24-25). If you do not have a local church that you currently attend, we invite you to visit us at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 9:15 for Sunday School and at 10:30 for worship.

ECS PHILOSOPHY (p. 6 in the handbook) – “Emmanuel Christian School is an academic institution, founded for the purpose of educating students from a Christian worldview and committed to
maintaining and delivering a strong academic program.”

Crusader Comments are delivered electronically through email usually on Thursday afternoons and deal with important information and upcoming events for the next week of school. You will receive a text to remind you to review it as you are making your plans for the upcoming week.
