Crusader Comments – October 25-30, 2021

Hello fellow Crusaders!  

On behalf of the faculty and staff at Emmanuel Christian School, I wanted to thank you for partnering with us in the education of your child(ren). You are making an eternal investment in their future and helping to establish in your child(ren) a Biblical worldview, along with the necessary skills to impact the world around them.


* 1st Quarter Report Cards should be returned on Monday, October 25.
* Book Fair is open all this week. It opens at 10:00 am on Monday, October 25 and closes at 11:00 am on Friday, October 29. See below for exact daily times.
* Grandparents Day is this Friday, October 29. Grandparents of preschool-age children (2 years old & 3 years old) can visit their classrooms starting at 9:00 am. Grandparents of 4K-6th grade students will start in the sanctuary and after their grandchild’s class finishes their performance you may leave the sanctuary and pick up your grandchild at the 100 building and then take them to the book fair. See Remind text for specific performance times.
*Fall Festival – Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. A fun time was had by all who attended. A special “we appreciate you” to all of the volunteers who came up during the day, stayed that evening to work the event, and to Mrs. Atkinson and especially Mrs. Byrd. Together we raised $ 1,613 for the PTF. Remember these funds go to help our teachers.
* Fall Fundraiser – Now that all of the items have been picked up, the final total money raised for this event was $11,352.40. Your support of ECS through this and each fundraiser is truly appreciated.
* Congratulations to our Cross Country team on another successful season and a shout out to Mrs. Corry our cross country coach. Congratulations to Nathaniel Long who finished 2nd in the state for boys on Saturday, October 16. Congratulations to Olivia St. Ours who finished 1st in the state for girls on Saturday, October 16.
* SCACS Volleyball State Tournament is this Friday and Saturday.
* FYI – Fall Sports Awards Ceremony will be Thursday, November 4 at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.
* COVID-19 Update – There are currently 0 positive student cases that we are aware of in grades K2-6th. There are currently 0 positive student cases that we are aware of in grades 7th-12th. If it would make you more comfortable for your child to wear a mask during the school day, feel free to send one with them and we will be happy to support you, your child, and your family.

* THE VERSE OF THE WEEK COMES FROM: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God, may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
* EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE FOR THE WEEK: Doctrinal Integrity – (2 Timothy 3:16-17) To teach that the Bible is the Word of God.

Have a great weekend, and make sure you are plugged into a local church body (Hebrews 10:24-25). If you do not have a local church that you currently attend, we invite you to visit us at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 9:15 for Sunday School and at 10:30 for worship

ECS PURPOSE (p. 6 in the handbook) – The purpose of Christian education is to instill biblical values and prepare students to fulfill God’s purpose for their life both vocationally and personally. ECS strives to educate our students with the soft skills necessary for business success and the daily skills for life; including the arts of communicating, living, solving, investigating, developing talents, and using leisure time in accordance with Biblical principles. At ECS, we follow the motto of “Teaching the Mind, Training the Heart.”

Crusader Comments are delivered electronically through email usually on Thursday afternoons and deal with important information and upcoming events for the next week of school. You will receive a “Remind text” to remind you to review it as you are making your plans for the upcoming week.
