Crusader Comments – September 5-10

Hello fellow Crusaders!

It is FALL FUNDRAISER TIME. Packets went home last week. If you didn’t get one or need an extra one, please call the school office and we will be more than happy to get one to you. We have partnered with Believe Kids Gift Catalog and Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough. You can register at shopfund.com, go to parents and sellers and create an account and click register, then add your student’s information and send emails to supporters to shop online. Those who want to use a paper order form may use the one in the packet that was sent home. Our fundraiser ends Monday, September 12. Make all checks to ECS and thank you for your help. Remember this year we are working towards a goal of adding shade structures and/or a new type of surface on the elementary playground.

Highlights:
* Go to ezschoolapps.com to order your school lunches for the day, week or the month of September. Toward the end of each month the next month will be posted, allowing you to order lunches for the next month. FYI – If you have 2 or more children at ECS the following information will allow you to avoid being charged the convenience fee multiple times. Once you are logged in, under the Meal Payment tab, load money only onto one child. Stay on the Meal Payment tab and then click on the Transfer Money Between Students button. This is where you can adjust the balance between each child’s account
* Go to plusportals.com/ecs to access your child’s grades, pay tuition, etc. You can only see the breakdown for your invoices if you log in using a web browser on your computer or phone. Grades 7-12 progress reports are handed out on Monday, September 12.
* Excel School of Fine Arts – Lessons will begin this week.
* 2022-23 Yearbook is on sale for $45 until Sept. 11. On the 12th it will become $55 to purchase a yearbook. You can personalize your yearbook with your name and more, contact the office for details.
* Fall Sports pictures
are Wednesday, September 7 right after school. Students should bring their uniforms for pictures. Packets will come home on Tuesday. Send the packet order form in on Wednesday or go online to mylifetouch.com and use picture day id EVTTS6XK8 to order your picture package.
* Senior Class Leadership Retreat
– Our annual senior class retreat is this week Wednesday through Friday. Our 17 seniors and chaperones will attend the Myrtle Beach Christian Retreat
* Boy’s haircuts
– Just a reminder… As we discussed at the orientation meetings it is time to check your son’s hair and see that it meets the guidelines of over the eyes, ears, and off the collar. If it doesn’t, please take them and have their hair cut.

* THE VERSE OF THE WEEK COMES FROM: Luke 9:23 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
* EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE FOR THE WEEK: Discipleship – (Luke 9:23) We teach that following Christ is the goal for life and our desire is to train students that will live out the victorious Christian life.

Go Crusaders.

Have a great weekend, and make sure you are plugged into a local church body (Hebrews 10:24-25). If you do not have a local church that you currently attend, we invite you to visit us at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 9:15 for Sunday School and at 10:30 for worship.

ECS MISSION (p. 6 in the handbook) – Our mission is to serve in partnership with parents and local churches to provide students with an excellent education taught with Biblical truths. Our desire is that students completing their training at Emmanuel Christian School will be authentic and mature disciples of Jesus Christ, possessing a wide range of knowledge, experiences, and skills that will enrich their lives and provide a good foundation upon which to develop a life of maximum service toward God and man.

Crusader Comments are delivered electronically through email usually on Thursday afternoons and deal with important information and upcoming events for the next week of school. You will receive a text to remind you to review it as you are making your plans for the upcoming week.
